| Summer Fishing |

Winter Fishing Saturday morning was beautiful, relatively warm and calm. Thor Gunnar made bacon and eggs for everyone, plus we enjoyed the other Norwegian breakfast foods: juices, breads, jams, cheeses, cold cuts, milk and coffee! Some time in the late morning we donned our skis and headed toward the lake that was maybe a mile away. It was an easy ski, even for a almost-novice cross-country skier like me.    |

In a short while we arrived at the lake. Thor Gunnar set up "camp" on a little slope just "onshore". Then came the task of drilling the hole through the ice to fish. Thor Gunnar did the initial hard work. Tove contributed for a while, and when everyone was about to give up, believing the ice was too thick, I "put my weight into it" and drilled the last couple of inches through the meter-thick ice.

We did not catch a fish. Not even one nibble. But it was fun.
