Happy New Year! We celebrated with a turkey dinner, TV, then going outside to watch fireworks all over the city. It was much warmer this New Year compared to last year. 32 degrees at midnight. The weather has been really nice lately. We took advantage of it on Sunday to take a walk to
Rønningen turisthytte, one of several waystation-cafe-"tourist cabins" within the walking-skiing trail system in our area.
Rønningen "turisthytte":
We walked to Rønningen along a trail designed for walking rather than skiing. There were families and couples and groups of friends walking along the trail. We saw baby strollers and kids with rumpeakebrett and rattkjelke.

The kids were having a blast going down the icy trail. The weather was perfect for walking. Still and around 32 degrees. We packed a lunch and brought coffee, so when we got to the hytte we sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed the setting sun. There were quite a few skiers there and there presence made me want to come back soon on skis.
