The Long Way Home

Arrived in Trondheim today. Over the past 10 days: Spent one full day with my Japanese boss who had flown in from Tokyo to have a "sitdown" (went well); we had a blocked main sewer line that took the whole day to fix (thanks for your help, Paul!); sold the scooter; leased the townhouse out; took three bids for installation of AC (apologies to kids for not doing this 28 years ago); retained horrible estate sale people to sell household items (more about that later); "palletized" the household stuff I couldn't do without for "slow boat" to Norway; palletized stuff to be sent to Devon and Ryan (thanks to Patrick for allowing me to ship a pallet to Valspar); attended a going away party hosted by good friend and adoptive mother of Margaret Thatcher Nunes Sullivan (the family dog, "Maggie"), Virginia Sullivan, fixed the Lincoln Continental's AC and fuel pump; sold the Lincoln to "Leo" from Minnesota who FLEW out to Calif. to buy this treasure of an automobile :-) on Saturday (the day before leaving); and having rented a car to run errands after selling the Lincoln, within 1/2 hour I got a flat tire (utility knife on the road) and had to wait 1hr for roadside assistance.

Oh, and I went to the dentist twice for last minute dental work; went to the doc twice for blood tests for cholesterol meds and a chest cold.

Got up Sunday morn' at 4:30. Boarded the plane at SNA to EWR at 7:30 a.m. Arrived at EWR at around 4PM EST; then on to Stockholm arriving Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. to hop on our last flight to Trondheim. Took a long nap this afternoon. Feeling pretty good right now.

It's been raining and mid 30s today. In the winter up here, dusk is sometimes referred to as "the blue hour". I took the photo in this post two winters ago from a ski trail about 1/4 mi from Tove's house.
