Now that your are up to date on Norwegian culture . . .
Tove and I left Wednesday morning to drive out to the island where she spent her early childhood. Several years ago she bought the family home on Lille Aursøya, a little island that is part of an island archipelago called Mausund. Mausund lies off the coast of Frøya. Frøya is a large island located near the coast about 150 km south of Trondheim. Tove and her family use the house as a summer vacation home. It is a rugged little house that Tove has put a lot of time into repairing and maintaining. While there are projects that need to get done, it is a cozy, structurally sound house on a barren hill on a little island in an area where only a few hundred people live. In other words, it's a good place to "get away from it all".

Before leaving we had to change her winter tires to summer tires. It was a pleasure to drive the car with the summer tires on, as the winter tires rode like a Fred Flintstone car. Summer tires on, we took off for Frøya to catch the ferry to Mausund
