Tove hangs a sheaf of grain ("nek" in Norwegian) in the tree every winter to feed the birds. The birds LOVE it.

Winter: "I'm baaackk!"
A few days ago Spring had sprung. Snow was melting, streets were flooding with all of the melted snow. Then, WHAM! The temperature dropped down to below freezing, it started snowing, and right now as I write this, it looks like a full-blown blizzard outside! Huge snowflakes are blowing this way and that as the wind swirls fiercely. It's been snowing fairly steadily for 3 days, now. What's strange, though, is that about 10 minutes ago, I took the following photographs from our living room, looking out into the back yard:
