The group of islands that include Tove's family home, which she now owns, is called Mausund.  The group of islands are still inhabited by fishermen and their families, although the population has dwindled significantly.  Each summer in early July Mausund hosts a sea-fishing festival that features deep-sea fishing competition, but also includes food, live entertainment (with top-notch bands) and handicrafts.

We went out there with Ingvild and Arild and their two children Mari and Liv.   We got to watch Liv and Mari while Ingvild and Arild went to see Valkyrien Allstars perform.  The kids were really good.

The weather was good for the most part.  The weekend out at Mausund signified the beginning of our summer vacation.

After the weekend, we returned to Trondheim and we were met with perfectly horrid weather -- rainy and cold.  It was really too bad because Ingvild's family and Unn's family had come to Trondheim to visit us and Oldemor Kitty and they had almost 100% crappy weather while visiting.  There were exceptions, however, and we have some pictures to prove it.
